Quick Reviews: Fahrenheit 451 - François Trufaut [1966]

Such a huge disappointment. I think it is a great injustice to compare books and adaptations, but unfortunately, the masterpiece of Ray Bradbury has so much power that it could not be forgotten while watching this movie. François Truffaut direct a movie with many fails, and most of them could be easily corrected, if Fahrenheit 451 had been done with more care. It's"just" an enjoyable movie, that recreates with some weakness the social message of Bradbury. The performances are unbalanced, the argument is poorly structured, and all the energy of Bradbury and Truffaut ideas (must have been dismayed by the power that the studio had on him) was wasted. What a pitty...
